The answer is definitely “yes” if you ask a physician who practices traditional Chinese medicine. Although new to many people here, traditional Chinese medicine is as old as Chinese history itself. This course will introduce the principle and philosophy of Chinese way of living well with focus on food cures. We will also discuss energies and actions of certain foods, body types and yin and yang principles, preventing and curing ailments, and Chinese diet for weight loss. The goal is to provide practical guides to everyday life, and to increase the awareness that you are indeed what you eat.

Part II Herbs & Tea
As continuation of part I, this course will go a step further to explain the functions of herbs and tea, as well as food cures. We’ll explore the Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water) of traditional Chinese medicine, and learn to apply the ancient Chinese principles to our practices in this modern era. We’ll look at the leaves and roots from the mountains and forests, and discuss how the Chinese acquire healing through connecting with the Mother Nature. We’ll sample the authentic tea from China and experience the art of tea.
